The Rauhalahti area offers diverse activities for both children and grown-ups. Kuopio Market Square, Shopping Centre Matkus and culture- and evening events are easily accessible with bus, and in July also with a boat.
The summer shop is open daily from 1 June to 2 August 2026, 12:00–19:00.
You can conveniently rent a variety of equipment from us, such as SUP boards, canoes and kayaks, as well as bicycles.
Also, you’ll find snacks to take with you to the beach at the summer shop! The selection includes, for example, ice cream, refreshments, and basic groceries.
Welcome to Rauhalahti on summer 2026!
Come and enjoy a sunny summer day at our child-friendly beach! The beach has a shallow, sandy bottom, making it perfect even for little ones to enjoy the water.
The beach area also features a children’s playground and a separate campfire spot, which is freely available for use.
Salty snacks, ice cream, and cold beverages for the beach can be purchased from the campsite restaurant, store, or reception.
The lakeside saunas are also available for everyone to rent during the summer season—and what could be better than taking a refreshing dip in Lake Kallavesi straight from the sauna? Ask about available sauna time slots at the campsite reception.
Rain or shine campfire and snacks are an option! There are two fireplaces in our area; Public fire place near the beach and paid Nuottakota.
You can rent the “Nuottakota” for private use at our reception for 22 € per 50 minutes.
Firewood is sold in the Summer Store. At Nuottakota, firewood is included in the price.
Our campsite offers convenient access to jogging paths that crisscross around the surrounding area. As the paths are illuminated, they can also be enjoyed on darkening autumn nights.
The Katiskaniemi nature path, which is mostly situated within a nature reserve, can be accessed from Spa Hotel Rauhalahti. The 2.5-kilometer path follows the Katiskaniemi shore.
In the winter, the campsite offers access to a solid network of ski trails that can be followed all the way to Kuopio passenger harbor.

Puijo Tower
When visiting Kuopio and our area, we highly recommend stopping by the top of Savonia's most famous landmark, Puijo Tower. Regardless of the season, the rolling hills of Kuopio and the lake views of Kallavesi are stunning to behold. The tower also houses a rotating restaurant that offers dishes featuring the flavors of the Savonia region.
Puijo is also home to excellent outdoor trails, including a disc golf course. Additionally, every year, Puijo is the first in Kuopio to open a paid early snow track for cross-country skiing.
