The Rauhalahti area offers diverse activities for both children and grown-ups. Kuopio Market Square, Shopping Centre Matkus and culture- and evening events are easily accessible with bus, and in July also with a boat. 

EQUIPMENT RENTAL

The equipment rental opens for the summer season on Monday, June 3rd, 2024!

The selection includes SUP boards, kayaks, double kayaks, canoes, rowing boats, electric scooters, pedal cars and bicycles.

Customers can also borrow various summer games free of charge, such as bocce, petanque and badminton rackets!

 

BEACH

Enjoy a sunny summer's day on our child-friendly beach! The shallow, sandy beach allows even smaller children to enjoy the water. The beach area also features a play area for kids and a separate firepit that can be used freely.   

Salty snacks, ice cream, and cold beverages for the beach can be purchased from the campsite restaurant, store, or reception.  

Guests can also hire one of the lakeside saunas, and what could be better than taking a refreshing dip in Lake Kallavesi straight from the heat of the sauna. Ask about available sauna slots from the campsite reception.  

CAMPFIRE AND FIREPITS

Rain or shine, campfire, snacks are an option! There are two fireplaces in our area; Public fire place near the beach and paid Nuottakota.

You can rent Nuottakota from our reception for 20€ per 50 min. 
Firewood is sold in the Summer Store. At Nuottakota, firewood is included in the price.  

OUTDOOR ACTIVITIES

Our campsite offers convenient access to jogging paths that crisscross around the surrounding area. As the paths are illuminated, they can also be enjoyed on darkening autumn nights.  

The Katiskaniemi nature path, which is mostly situated within a nature reserve, can be accessed from Spa Hotel Rauhalahti. The 2.5-kilometer path follows the Katiskaniemi shore.  

In the winter, the campsite offers access to a solid network of ski trails that can be followed all the way to Kuopio passenger harbor.

The Rauhalahti Spa Hotel is just a short walk away from us.


The spa's pool section is open every day, and the restaurant offers both a la carte and take-away food! The spa hotel Rauhalahti also has various performers!

Rauhalahti Animal Park

The small animal park Rauhalahti is located right next to our area. The park is well connected by car, city traffic and the Vilkku city bikes.

 

The animal park is open every day from 3 of June to 13 of August from 10 am to 8 pm.

 

Ticket 9€ / person , under 2-year-olds free of charge.

Rauhalahti Bowling

Within walking distance there is Rauhalahti Bowling! Rauhalahti Bowling offers 12 bowling alleys and three pool tables!


During summer season there is also a 18-hole mini golf course.

Kuopio Passenger Port offers the best selection of inland cruises in Finland!

The cruise season begins in June and continues through early fall. There are many different inland cruises to choose from – for example hop on a ship that will take you to the nearby Alahovi winery to get to know the winemaking culture!

Jet Skis, Hot tubs, and Paintball

Our partner AJRSteam Oy offers snowmobile, hot tub and water jet rental.


Through them, you can also book a game of paintball, which is held in our area in a built-in play area.

KUOPIO REGION

Events in Kuopio

Kuopio hosts many events in the fields of art, culture, food, sports and entertainment throughout the year.


The biggest events every summer are Kuopio Rock, Kuopio Wine Festival and Kuopio Dance festival. One of the biggest events of the winter is the Finland Ice Marathon, which is skated on the natural ice of Kallavesi.

Puijo Tower

When visiting Kuopio and visiting us, we also recommend stopping at the top of Savo's most famous landmark, Puijo Tower. Puijo Tower rises a whopping 224 meters above Kallavesi, thanks to Puijo Hill and it can feel wild! There is also a revolving tower restaurant in Puijo Tower, which features the flavors of the Savo region in its menu.


Puijo also has excellent outdoor terrain with a frisbee golf course. Puijo is the first in Kuopio to open a paid first snow ski track every year.

Kuopio Market Square

In addition to the Puijo Tower, the Kuopio Market (Mualiman Napa) is one of the most famous sights.


You can buy traditional food dishes at the market, and in summer the market comes to life and there is a wide variety of cafés, restaurants and stalls.


We also recommend stopping at the Grand International Market Square if you happen to be in Kuopio!

Matkus Shopping Centre

You will find almost 80 stores and an IKEA department store in the shopping center. In the courtyard area of ​​the shopping center, there is also a large "Olopuisto" for the whole family that caters for a variety of visitors and users. From us, the Matkus Shopping Center is only about 7 km away! You can easily go by car, Vilkku city bike or local transport.
